بعد سُبات شتوي طويل، يستيقظ القنفذ ويخرج من بيته الصغير ليجد أن الثلج قد اختفى تماماً، وحلّ مكانه عشبٌ أخضر يكسو الأرض. الزهور بدأت تتفتح، والأوراق الخضراء تزين الأشجار، حتى أصدقاؤه الطيور عادوا من رحلتهم البعيدة ليبنوا أعشاشهم من جديد

قالت له الشمس بلهفة: «لقد وصل الربيع!». تحمس القنفذ كثيراً وأراد رؤية هذا "الربيع"، لكنه لم يكن يعرف كيف يبدو! لماذا يرى الجميع الربيع بينما لا يراه القنفذ؟ وهل سيتمكن في النهاية من العثور عليه؟

When Hedgehog wakes up after a long winter nap and goes outside, he sees that the snow is gone, and in its place is green grass. The flowers are blooming, the trees are green, and his bird friends have returned from the south to build their nests once again.
